If you would like to use a new email address for your account, just follow the steps below. The best time to make these changes is while you still have access to both your old and new email addresses!
There are four places you may wish to change your email address:
- Your main Saylor Academy account at https://learn.saylor.org
- Your Accredible certificates account (if you have earned any certificates; if you do not change this, your existing certificates will be under your older email address and new certificates will be under your newer email address)
- Your discussion forums account at https://discourse.saylor.org (if you have previously used the forums)
- Your subscription options for our mailing list (run by MailChimp)
Change your email address for your Saylor Academy student account
First, log into your Saylor Academy account as you normally would do.
Next click on your name at the top of your screen to bring up your account profile (for our example account, the name is "Saylor Student").
Click on the Edit profile link that appears near the top of your profile information.
Scroll down a bit to find the Email address field. Change this to the new email address that you wish to use.
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the Update profile button to save the changes to your account.
That's it! You should now be able to log in using your new email address and your existing password (unless you have changed that as well).
Change your email address for your Accredible certificates
First, log in to your Accredible account (we show you how here).
Once you are logged in, click by your name to view the option Change My Email:
Clicking that option will bring up a dialog box in which you can type in and confirm your new email address.
Clicking Send Confirmation, will send a 4-digit code to your older email address and create a new dialog box, pictured below.
Retrieve that code and enter it into the dialog box to complete your change of email address for your Accredible account.
Change your email address in the discussion forums
When logged in to the discussion forums, click on your avatar image near the top of the page and then click on the gear icon to open your account preferences, as shown below:
Then click on the pencil icon beside your email address:
Clicking on the pencil icon will bring up this screen, where you can type in your new email address. Be sure to click the change button to save!
That's it! While you're on your preferences screen, you can of course review and update other information, as necessary.
Change your email address in MailChimp
The easiest way to change your email address in MailChimp is to find (or wait for) an email that we have sent you and use the "update my preferences" link available in the email message -- note that these are not the normal "system" emails for things like confirming your account, but rather announcement/newsletter type emails.
