A free certificate of completion is available for every course at learn.saylor.org by passing a course's final exam with 70% or better. Your digital certificate can be shared privately or publicly, linked to from other websites, downloaded to a PDF file, and printed.
We work with a certification provider called Accredible to issue and maintain certificates. Our certificates look like this:
What are Accredible certificates?
An Accredible certificate is a web-based credential designed to give a more complete picture of students’ engagement and attainment in their online coursework. These certificates are flexible, shareable, and data-rich. Think of your new certificate as a digital learning portfolio for the course you passed.
Check out this live example that depicts a robust Accredible certificate with well-curated evidence items. Use it as inspiration for your own certificate!
Several metrics of your achievement in the course are pulled directly into your certificate from our learning platform, including your final exam score, a transcript of your unit assessment scores (if applicable), and the amount of time you spent enrolled in the course. You also have the option to create your own evidence to demonstrate your learning; you may upload work samples, notes, video demonstrations -- almost anything you can think of -- onto your certificate. Thus, when you share your certificate with your school or employer, they see how much effort you put into the course, not just your final exam score.
Accredible certificates are integrated with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, so share widely! Accredible has also made it very easy to ask your academic mentors or supervisors for a recommendation, or just a good word, about all you gained in the course you just passed!
